Navy Ventile Trench Coat
This is the American Trench. Cut and sewn at a factory in Northern, NJ, the exterior fabric is the unparalleled Ventile cloth, woven in the same UK mill since 1943. Ventile, originally developed in WWII to use as flight suits, is densely woven from American grown and spun extra long staple supima cotton; the tightness of the weave creates a water repellent fabric. There is an additional DWR coating on the fabric - a modern twist that increases surface tension (beading effect), but does not inhibit breathability. We dig the way this coat is perfectly at home over anything from a suit to your favorite heavy sweater and denim, it's one of the most versatile outerwear pieces we've ever seen. The mid-weight (especially with the optional button-in liner!) is great for the coming chilly weather, while not being too warm-wearing for much of the majority of the year.
