Alan Paine for H. Stockton
Navy Shetland Blouson Sweater
Alan Paine started manufacturing knitwear in England back in 1907. Purveyors of classic British styles, each piece of knitwear is fully fashioned, knitted to shape on the knitting machine and not cut and sewn, as well as hand-finished. Finally, the main pressure points of each piece is then reinforced, yielding a great fit and feel that lasts the wearer for years.
We wanted to bring something different to our knitwear arsenal this season and thought this Shetland wool blouson sweater was a great place to step out from the norm. Shetland sweaters are impeccable for Winter and all it's glory. Naturally resistant to wind and water, the fabric requires very little upkeep and the slightly heavier weight means less stretch, more natural break-in. The shape is great, not too fitted, and looks dynamite underneath a Barbour jacket, while substantial enough to wear as a light jacket for those chilly Autumn nights. You'll find yourself reaching for this piece on any number of occasions.
We love to find interesting pieces like this and often find them being amongst our most worn garments.
