Black Patent Leather Formal Pump
There's black tie shoes and then there are these black tie shoes. The formal pump has history dating back to the early 19th century when wealthy European men would wear formal pumps in the evenings. The early versions had a silver buckle across the top. However, Beau Brummel, and his everlasting influence on men's clothing, liked a more minimalist approach and insisted on his formal pumps with a grosgrain bow. To this day, formal pumps are still worn in England with "court dress" and are still often refereed to as "court shoes". It is the only style of shoe which came from the 19th century to the 21st without any change in appearance. In fact, you could say you are walking(dancing) around in history while wearing these special shoes.
